Why Bronde Hair Continues To Be One Of My Favourite Colour Trends

Bronde has been a salon favourite for years, and I completely understand why. It sits perfectly between brunette and blonde, giving you brightness without the commitment of going fully blonde.

The colour has been a salon staple for several years now largely thanks to its bright results and fairly low maintenance upkeep. It offers the best of both worlds. It feels lighter and fresher than brunette, but softer and lower maintenance than blonde.

People are increasingly choosing colours that grow out gracefully, and bronde delivers that lived-in look without harsh regrowth lines. It also aligns with the wider shift towards effortless, expensive looking hair that prioritises shine, health and natural dimension.

Although it is a classic colour choice, the techniques behind bronde are always evolving. Recently I have noticed a move towards softer, more personalised finishes, and I shared my thoughts with Country and Townhouse.

We are seeing a move away from high contrast balayage towards diffused, seamless blends that look completely natural. Expect to see more neutral beige brondes, creamy mushroom tones and warmer almond finishes that add glow without looking brassy. The focus is on healthy shine, subtle dimension and colours that enhance natural features rather than overpower them.

How I Recommend Maintaining Bronde Hair

Like all colour treated hair, bronde needs the right at home care to keep it looking fresh and glossy.

Use colour safe, sulphate free shampoo to preserve tone and prevent fading. You can also refresh with a gloss or toner in the salon every eight to 10 weeks to keep the blend seamless.

It is also important to hydrate regularly with masks or bond building treatments to keep the hair reflective and healthy. And always protect from heat and UV exposure, as both can cause brassiness and dullness. The lighter sections of hair will always be slightly more fragile, so protecting them will keep the colour looking its best for longer.

For me, bronde is the perfect balance of effortless and polished. It brightens the hair, grows out beautifully and always looks naturally expensive.
