Three Barrels, One Tool: How I Create Three Different Curls

One of the things I always tell my clients is that the size of your curling barrel can completely change the finished look. You don’t need lots of different tools to create different styles, you just need the right barrel.

I use the Alfa Italia Tropea Pro Multi-Curl Styler, which comes with three interchangeable titanium barrels, so I can switch between soft waves, classic curls and tighter definition depending on the finish I want.

32mm: Soft, Loose Waves

The 32mm is my go-to when I want a soft, loose wave with plenty of movement. It’s particularly beautiful on longer hair and gives that effortless, bouncy finish that doesn’t feel overly styled.

25mm: The Classic Curl

If you’re looking for a classic curl, the 25mm is the perfect middle ground. It creates a more defined shape while still being soft enough to brush out into a gorgeous beachy wave.

19mm: Tight, Defined Curls

For a tighter, more defined curl, I reach for the 19mm. It’s brilliant for creating bounce and texture, particularly on shorter styles. You can leave the curls defined or brush them out once cool for a fuller finish.

Three barrels, three completely different looks, all from one tool. For me, it’s all about choosing your barrel based on the finish you want to create.
